The United Methodist Committee on Relief, Non-Governmental Organization (UMCOR-NGO) is a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional development and relief assistance to communities in need around the world. UMCOR is seeking five (5) Income Generation Specialists to help implement the Livelihoods for Affected Communities in Bireuen, Aceh (LABA) project in Bireuen. The tow-year project is expected to begin in November with funding by the American Red Cross and UMCOR. Positions will be contingent on final funding approval from the donor.

Essential Functions: Assist Field Coordinator in implementing the livelihood component of the project, liaison with Community Development Committees, project beneficiaries, local government agencies and other external project participants; participate in facilitation of business skills trainings and business plan preparation and evaluation; community development, project management and procurement assignments as defined by the Field Coordinator; assist with helping Community Development Committees to receive training, receive repayments from beneficiaries and establish community funds; work closely with Field Coordinator and other project staff; participate in project team and stakeholder meetings; and any other duties as assigned by the Field Coordinator.

Requirements: University degree in relevant field, minimum two years experience working on community development or economic development project. Computer literacy, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to problem solve, and ability to represent organization in a professional manner. Proven organization skills as well as the ability to prioritize and carry out tasks. Team player with a strong work ethic desired. Proficiency in English required with knowledge of Acehnese a plus. Experience working for NGO’s and/or UN agencies preferred.
