UNDP Indonesia’s mission is to be an agent for change in the human and social development of Indonesia. We aim to be a bridge between Indonesia and all donors as well as a trusted partner to all stakeholders. We work in four key areas of development: Governance Reforms, Pro-Poor Policy Reforms, Conflict Prevention and Recovery, and Environment Management, with the overarching aim of reducing poverty in Indonesia. Besides the four priority areas, UNDP Indonesia is also engaged in a variety of crosscutting initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and information and technology for development.

Governance Officer (National)

Education:
* Master degree or Bachelor degree in political science, public administration, business administration, international development, or other related or relevant discipline

Experience:
*  Minimum of 5 years for Master degree and 7 years for Bachelor degree of practical and relevant professional experience in governance building.
* Experience in a range of issues / themes, such as public sector reform, public services, poverty reduction programming, gender mainstreaming and project planning and management.
* Understanding of the region, its local religions, cultures and economic conditions, and understanding of current political and economic policies in Indonesia
* Good participatory skills, including the ability to foster teambuilding and facilitate planning meetings and workshops.
* Working experience in Papua would be an advantage;
* High skill-level with computers, particularly in the areas of desk-top publishing, databases, and information management technologies;
* Experience working with Melanesian cultures is an advantage.

Language Requirements:
* Excellent spoken and written proficiency in English.
* Knowledge and fluency of Bahasa Indonesia and familiarity with Indonesian culture is desirable.
