I graduated from social science from state owned university called Universitas Riau, Indonesia, but I was interested a lot in Information Technology, most of my time was spent at computer lab at my campus. First, I learned all kind of subject regarding information technology such as, web design, web programming, server administration, computer / desktop technician, and networking.

Although my current work in Information Technology is in website environment, but I have wonderful and very useful experience in networking environment. My campus is chosen by The Cisco Learning Network as their learning partners program called Cisco Network Academy Program under Universitas Indonesia as their Regional Academy Program. I thought this is a good opportunity for me to learn networking with International Standard and have a chance to earn Cisco Certified like CCDA, CCNA, CCDP or even CCDE.

I joined Cisco Networking Academy Program as pilot student / class, the learning program consist of four semesters that study about advance routing and switching concepts. I enjoyed a lot the class because studying networking is more fun than I thought, the class was equipped with sophisticated CISCO network device such as router, switch, flux and many more. The learning module was in multimedia and animation, so the students never get bored with it. Every time we finished to study and practicing a subject / chapter, the class ended up with online quiz, therefore student can measure how much they understand the subject.

If you want to lean CISCO like I did, but the academy is not in your area, you can learn it from your home with CISCO Learning Network and also earn Cisco certification at the same place.
